Take another picture.
We all know I don’t know how to travel light when it comes to cameras. Luckily, I have friends who are just as crazy as I am. Fortunately, Mr. S is a carried baby, because boy did that stroller come in handy when we went to the CNE on a photo trip with Ryan and Calla last year.
C’moooooonnnn, summer–our click click click click cameras are waiting.
Nice Day for a Walk
There was an ever-so-short amount of time where Samson liked walking with me, holding tight to my hand wherever we went. It passed so quickly, and now he wriggles and protests and would much rather walk all by himself. Little Mr. Independent. Anyway, I was going through old videos and I realized I forgot to post this film Auntie Calla did for us at Halloween. October 31st, 2010 not only marked Samson first time trick-or-treating, it also marked Samson’s first real walk, which I guess could also mark the birth of Mr. Independent. He didn’t want to hold my hand then either. He just whined and flapped his little duck wings wildly.
And speaking of walking, you might want to ask Ms. Evans about Samson’s on-camera walking skills. That, or, stick around for the bloopers at the end.
Enjoy.
Choo Choo!
Samson’s 13 months old today. He’s still blond, and he’s a clever little fellow. He points at everything and asks “ess ah?” (what’s it?). He can sign fish, train, milk, airplane, butterfly, caterpillar, bear, squirrel, horse, ball, dog, water. He can make cat, dog, airplane, train, pig, duck and cow noises. His favourite foods are meatballs, apples, bananas, kiwi, melon, bread, crackers, and cheerios. His favourite toys are his books. He has two freckles—one on his cheek and one on his tummy. (I checked; they’re not dirt.) He’s just about to get his first molar and a bottom tooth that’ll even out the asymmetrical look he’s been sporting since the summer. He goes poo in the potty, and prefers walking to crawling. He’s our toddles.
Oh and he’s obsessed with fish (mostly because of Finding Nemo, but he did know the sign before and even saw real fish at the zoo), trucks, airplanes and trains. It’s actually a pretty awesome video if you don’t have to watch it 14 times a day. (The 2:50 mark is Samson’s favourite part.).
And if you’re still reading and are still interested here’s the inevitable part of the blog where I post a video of Samson’s adorable reaction to the aforementioned train video.
The Funk Machine
The Boy really likes music. Thankfully, if he continues to enjoy it, his Uncle Jon can push him to excel at it, and totally demystify the idea of doing it for a living.
In the meantime, they can just rock out.

YYZ to CPH to GDN
We’re very proud of our little world traveller who did really well on the way over. Favourite activities include:
– banging on windows
– yelling at airplanes
– pointing out interesting things in airports (lights, artwork, sculptures)
– yelling at little trucks that carry luggage
– sleeping on his tummy with his bum in the air (which was hard to achieve on the plane, so there was a lot of thrashing, and not a lot of time for Mummy to sleep)
– airplane windows
For you: a little video of some of the yelling.
